Financed projects
Public funding is a strategic opportunity for companies investing in innovation.
Through funded projects, businesses can develop new solutions, enhance competitiveness, and collaborate with research bodies and institutions.
DAVE Embedded Systems takes advantage of these opportunities, as shown by the projects listed below.
DAVE Embedded Systems integrates the Industry 4.0 in its facilities thanks to program POR FESR 2014-2020. Thanks to several years of experience cooperating in many projects where Networking, Datalogging and IoT were the keywords, these processes now are officially part of DAVE Embedded Systems' manufacturing and testing procedures. The changing process started months ago with automatic testing equipments using cobots and new SW solutions. Now this first step is completed with a complete integration with a brand new ERP system which enable DAVE's team to have a global unique managing system. This step was possible thank to the support of Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italian Government and European Union.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No101099093.
It will change the paradigm of preterm neonatal care and nutrition, through a Nutritional Clinical Advisor, who will guide the parenteral (intravenous) nutritional intake of preterm infants to meet the needs necessary to guarantee optimal levels of cerebral oxygenation.
PROMETEUS also consists of a digital device with a double user interface: one for healthcare personnel and the other for parents.
This device, which represents to all intents and purposes the digital twin of the preterm infant, is a unique tool that will accompany parents during the hospitalization of their babies in the neonatal intensive care unit, reducing the “distance” that typically characterizes hospitalization in the neonatal intensive care unit between families (at home) and their children.
PROJECT: “AURA” PROJECT
In recent years DAVE has carried out research and development activities to make the hardware and software tools necessary for the development of Artificial Intelligence techniques. These devices need high-performance but robust components from a thermal point of view, resistant to electrostatic discharges at the highest possible level, and not very demanding in terms of consumption (in case it is necessary to power them by battery when the device is portable/mobile) . But above all they must implement NPU (Neural Processing Units) type cells which are the cells - or actual coprocessors - that allow AI algorithms to be processed. The idea of the AURA SOM solution was born from these R&D activities. The AURA SOM System On module was designed to be supplied with NXP i.MX93 (or subsequent ones of the same family) System-On-Chip and to provide an innovative Edge Computing solution in the industrial sector.

In the coming months, DAVE S.R.L. will release the first version of “ToloMEO,” a connected embedded system that enables a range of services from Edge to Cloud, directly available on the customer’s embedded device. ToloMEO is designed to extend the capabilities of the edge platform with cloud services and is divided into various modules on both the edge and cloud sides.
Cybersecurity becomes a crucial issue for Edge computing, as ensuring adequate security in a distributed environment means addressing risks related to data processing outside the network boundaries. Additionally, the introduction of new IoT devices increases the potential for attackers to infiltrate the system.
