ORCA SBC is based on ORCA SOM System On Module which, in turn, is based on NXP System On Chip i.MX8M Plus.
The i.MX 8M Plus family focuses on machine learning and vision, advanced multimedia and industrial IoT with high reliability.
SBC ORCA is a ready-to-use solution designed for long-term availability within the industrial qualification and can be easily interfaced with Plant Automation Control thanks to IEC-61131 SW language environment and/or other plug-ins like QT framework, Chromium web based GUI or multimedia GStreamer video applications.
ORCA SBC has a 6 Modules DIN Bar and can be configured in order to be boxed with a standard product shape. It can be provided with an enclosure and it is suitable for EU or other countries certification.
The i.MX8M Plus processor by our technology partner NXP integrates a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) for advanced machine learning applications.

U-Boot automatically runs the autoboot macro, that loads the kernel/dtb and launches it with the options for mounting the root file system from the SD card.
At the end of the boot process, a demo application is launched and you can interact with the system using the touchscreen.
ORCA Evaluation Board has a pushbutton directly connected to the PMIC_RST_B signal which drives a SOM hardware reset.
S1 is the hardware reset button.
